Q4 2020 Round-Up: Top Pirate Games on Android in the UK

As we sail through the data ocean, it's clear that the pirate-themed gaming category has had an interesting voyage in the UK's Android market during the fourth quarter of 2020. Thanks to Sensor Tower, we have a treasure map to the performance of the top five pirate games in this period.

Pirate Kings™️ by Playtika, an established title since 2014, showed no new downloads but maintained a consistent revenue stream, peaking at approximately $33K in the week of December 7th. Weekly active users saw a decline from 7K to around 6K by the end of December.

Pirates of the Caribbean: ToW from JOYCITY Corp. experienced fluctuating revenue, with a noteworthy rise to nearly $27K in the week leading up to Christmas. Downloads remained steady, averaging around 800 per week, while active users slightly decreased from 1.7K to 1.3K over the quarter.

For the newly released Mutiny: Pirate Survival RPG by Helio Games, revenue grew from a mere $7 to over $2K by the week of December 21st, signaling a promising start. Downloads saw a spike in early November at over 2K but settled to around 700 by the end of December. Active users peaked at 1.8K in mid-November but dropped to just under 800 by year's end.

Age of Sail: Navy & Pirates by Special Gamez had modest revenue growth, reaching $790 in the week of December 21st. Unfortunately, there were no new downloads recorded throughout the quarter, and active users saw a gradual decrease from 879 to 686.

Lastly, Idle Pirate Tycoon from Kolibri Games launched in early November and showed an initial surge in downloads with over 2.6K in its debut week. Revenue peaked at $572 in the week of November 23rd but fell to $136 by the end of December. Active users' data was not available for this title.
